    Prof. Maria Rosario Araneta is a Filipino American Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine based in the University of California in San Diego. Her work focuses on Filipinos and Ethnic populations based in the US. These longitudinal studies have provided significant background on the various metabolic disorders of migrant populations. An astute academician and a multi-awarded mentor, Dr. Araneta revisits her roots in Manila as she joins the rest of the Plenary speakers for the 20th AFES Congress in November 2019.

He is a Founding Member and Past President of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (AFES).

He leads a team of speakers as President of the Worldwide Initiative for Diabetes Education who will complement the ASEAN lecturers in the coming AFES Convention in Manila.

    Professor Frank Hu is a Chinese-American Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. His research is focused on diet/lifestyle, metabolic, and genetic determinants of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. He will join AFES 2019 to talk about Asian diet and its impact on Metabolic Diseases.

    Prof. Manju Chandran is a recognized authority in Asian Osteoporosis. She has produced a number of publications focused on this topic from her centers in Singapore. She has held key positions in the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore (EMSS) as Past President and as Scientific Advisor to the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF).

    Prof. Bülent Yildiz is an Endocrinologist from Ankara, Turkey. His current research interests involve androgen excess disorders in women. Distinctly known for his research on PCOS and its metabolic consequences, Prof. Yildiz also studies the neuroendocrine regulation of food intake. An eminent figure in the European Endocrine circles. Among his achievements he is credited as the founder and president of ENDOBridge, a venue for European-Asian Endocrinologists to discuss regional concerns in Endocrinology. Dr. Yildiz is also a recipient of several awards and grants from Europe and the US for his leadership and research.

    Prof. Vivien Lim is a Past President of the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore (EMSS). She has actively participated in the growth of Endocrine practice in the Asian region as a recognized Speaker and Leader. She returns to the Philippine to present ASEAN data on Obesity in the upcoming 20th AFES Convention at the PICC in Manila this coming November 21-23, 2019.

    Simplyfiying the Complexities for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Thyroid Nodules
    Prof. Susan Mandel is the Immediate Past President of the Endocrine Society. She is a Professor of Medicine and Radiology and Associate Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania where she directs the Endocrine fellowship. She has worked closely with several writing groups of the American thyroid Association for Guidelines on Thyroid Nodules and Thyroid Malignancy. She has received several awards for her work as an Educator and a Clinician.

    Approach to Adrenal Incidentalomas
    Prof. Jerome Bertherat, is the head of the National Center for Rare Adrenal Diseases and of the research team in the Cochin Institute in Paris, France. His key positions include coordinator of the French National Network for Rare Endocrine Disorders (FIRENDO), Executive committee member of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE), founding Executive Board member of the European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumor (ENSAT), deputy Editor of the European Journal of Endocrinology, and Board member of the French Endocrine Society (SFE). His main research specialties include Cushing's syndrome, the genetics of familial endocrine tumors and the molecular genetics of adrenocortical tumors. He will share his expertise in Adrenal Disease as discusses the approach to Adrenal incidentalomas in the upcoming AFES Congress.

She will provide insights on the Diabetes situation in the region and discuss the implications of foreign guidelines in the upcoming 20th AFES Convention in November 2019.
